Overall Abstract
For many who first enter the field of dissociation and trauma, there is often not a great deal of information that describes the theoretical foundations and history of the dissociative field. This workshop is intended for students, emerging professionals and experienced practitioners who are interested in learning about the fundamentals of dissociation as a distinct response to trauma.
Day two of this conference features a plenary workshop by Karlen Lyons-Ruth as well as seven 90 minute workshop and one three hour workshop.
Disorganized attachment processes have been theorized to contribute to a range of trauma-related psychopathologies in adulthood. Dr. Lyons-Ruth will focus on the current state of knowledge regarding parent-child interaction patterns associated with trajectories toward dissociation, borderline psychopathology, and suicidality, and present new interactional and neurobiological findings from recent longitudinal work.
This presentation has been updated to include recent literature relevant to assessment of structural dissociation, the newly updated MID Analysis v5.0, and the Interpretive Manual, 3rd Edition. Since the development of EMDR therapy in the early 1990s, a large body of research has shown that it is efficacious for PTSD.
