Day One of the 2020 Virtual Congress includes three tracks of pre-conference workshops. Each workshop is six hours in length.
|
TAY is a term that refers to Transitional Aged Youth, generally defined as the range between 18 and 24 years old. In giving an overview of working with TAY who struggle with symptoms of complex trauma and dissociation, the presentation will start with some background on why TAY should be considered as a distinct developmental group with unique needs and concerns.

As most people who work in the addiction field already know, chronic addiction and relapse is more than just a behavioral issue. Understanding the effects of unresolved pain/trauma and dissociation is critical in breaking these cycles of self-destructive patterns seen in substance use disorder, process addictions, addiction substitution and related mental health symptoms.

Day two of this conference features a plenary workshop by Karlen Lyons-Ruth as well as seven 90 minute workshop and one three hour workshop.
