Clinicians and researchers have found positive treatment effects beyond PTSD for more complicated conditions. Unfortunately, clinicians soon discovered that EMDR seemed to move complex trauma patients into dysregulated states rather than towards the expected, adaptive resolution of targeted traumatic memories.
