We are also learning that Mindfulness is more than just a spiritual practice. The neurobiological result of mindfulness is very similar to the neurobiological developmental adult milestone of secure attachment. These findings suggest that mindfulness is potentially a very important part of our social engagement system.

Abstract:  This presentation will consist of three linked presentations which explore contemporary issues in organized abuse and its treatment. The presenters will discuss current research about organized abuse, and provide an overview of the various treatment approaches for clients who present with a history of organized and extreme abuse. AbstractIllness and injury are constant possibilities in our lives. This has become increasingly obvious in recent years as our world continues to adjust to life post-pandemic. While medical issues are commonplace, the psychological impacts of medical trauma are less understood and even less often discussed as a significant contributor to complex trauma. However, understanding the impact of medical trauma is vital to effectively assessing trauma and treating symptoms of traumatic stress.
