AbstractThis panel discussion explores the cultural aspects of transgenerational trauma.  Cultural factors deeply influence trauma survivor presentations.  It is essential for those treating those survivors to understand this.  Dolores Mosquera, E. Dissociative Disorders are underdiagnosed, undertreated, and widely misunderstood among mental health professionals. Dissociative disorders are more common than either schizophrenia or bipolar disorder even by conservative estimates, yet individuals suffering from these disorders are typically in the mental health system for years before receiving the proper diagnosis.
