Beginning/Introductory Content Package

It is critical early in treatment of persons with complex trauma histories to establish a clear understanding of the client and a conceptual frame for your work with them. In this collection of webinars, you will be first be introduced to an overview history and basic concepts of trauma, dissociation, and the dissociative disorders. Then, you’ll have the opportunity to delve more deeply into the topic, with a tighter focus on transgenerational impacts and epigenetic markers of trauma, theoretical models for understanding dissociation, explicit and implicit factors that can affect treatment trajectory, and new ways of understanding dissociation rooted in a collaborative treatment model.

Next you’ll be introduced to different tools for diagnostic and contextual evaluation, including the Mental Status Examination (MSE), the Dissociative Disorders Interview Schedule (DDIS), the Multidimensional Inventory of Dissociation (MID), and additional trauma measures as well as personality profiling and projective evaluation of subjective experience.

Finally, you’ll gain insight into the earliest stage of treatment and considerations for working with two specific populations.
