Comprehensive Resource Model: Healing Perpetrator Patterns in the Generational Lineages

Abstract
The Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM) is an affect-focused, memory reconsolidation system of healing which catalyzes the mind and body to safely access intolerable trauma memories, changing how the emotional learning is experienced and responded to in clinical presentations such as Complex PTSD and Dissociative Identity Disorder. The neurobiological foundation of CRM, coupled with access to multi-dimensional consciousness, provides an opportunity to resolve patterns of dissociation within individual clients as well as across the maternal, paternal and spiritual ancestral lineages. The conceptualization of this component of CRM involves a way of seeing solutions beyond our normal objective reality, allowing an organic healing movement that comes from a field beyond the rational mind. When considering our ancestral resources and trauma experiences, CRM conceptualizes them as patterns or fields of energy that contain the imprints of the original ancestors, which allows one to explore the notion that it is not the ancestor themselves that affects us but the patterns of energy that we inherit from them. The theory is that unresolved imprints of perpetrator behaviors and beliefs in the lineages contribute to present-day experiences of victimization, powerlessness and the re-enactment of victim, rescuer and perpetrator roles relevant to Self and others; all of which are compounded by the neurobiology/neurochemistry of Complex PTSD. Working within CRM conceptualization, the roots of perpetrator patterns and energies are dismantled, released and transformed, transcending the victim-perpetrator-rescuer dynamics that lead to self-condemnation and “I am unforgiveable” in this timeline. This allows the client to form a re-connection to sovereign free will over their choices and beliefs while simultaneously re-consolidating emotional trauma memory in the midbrain, thereby dismantling the need for dissociation and the obstacles to healing it in this timeline.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this session participants will be able to:

  • Describe the neurobiological mechanism of change using CRM for Generational trauma transformation
  • Summarize the use of Ancestral Resources to create brain and body-based safety during trauma processing
  • Explain the importance of healing perpetrator behaviors and patterns in the three ancestral lineages
  • Identify the relationship between Generational perpetrator trauma and obstacles to healing current time-line trauma/dissociation
  • Conduct a personal internal process to identify and embody a relationship with ancestors in the three lineages

Presenter: Lisa S. Schwarz, MEd Licensed Psychologist
Presenter Bio: Lisa Schwarz, MEd is a Pennsylvania state licensed psychologist, consultant, and international educator based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Beulah, Colorado. She is the developer of the Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM) and has spent the past 33 years dedicating her work to creating innovative methods for working with dissociative disorders (including medical/somatic dissociation), attachment disorders, gestational trauma, generational trauma and performance enhancement. Lisa’s clinical work and international teaching provides a combination of psychotherapy, neuroscience, and the expansion of consciousness in facilitating holistic healing from traumatic events across time-lines, lineages and dimensions. She is the primary author of “The Comprehensive Resource Model: Effective Techniques for Treating Complex PTSD” (Routledge 2017) with CRM featured as the cover story in Newsweek in April 2017.

Presenter: Elisa Elkin-Cleary, LICSW
Presenter Bio: Elisa Elkin-Cleary, LICSW, is a licensed clinical social worker in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. She has worked in private clinical practice since 2001, is a certified trauma therapist from the Colin Ross Institute, and has extensive training in ego state work, trauma, dissociation, maternal mental health, attachment, and performance enhancement. She works internationally bringing The Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM) skills into corporate performance and leadership, sports and musical performance, and clinical consultation with residential treatment programs nationally and internationally.
