The Complexities of Complex Trauma Accelerated Live Teleseminar Hosey
The course will focus on the etiology of chronic trauma, its clinical picture, tools of assessment, the phase oriented approach to trauma and treatment pitfalls and therapeutic alliance. The course is partly didactic, based on the assigned readings, and partly discussion of the “Case of Erica”, a teaching case which unfolds in a naturalistic progression over 4 classes.
This course then continues the information learned in Part I and will focus on betrayal and memory, treatment modalities, the role of attachment, applications of theoretical models, and secondary trauma. The course is partly didactic, based on the assigned readings. In addition, students must be prepared to discuss theories as applied to treatment of their own clients.
Course Format: 12 sessions Live Teleseminar; 2.5 hour sessions each.

Jillian Hosey, MSW, RSW
Jillian Hosey, MSW RSW, is a Clinical Social Worker and Trauma Therapist in Private Practice in Toronto Canada, providing comprehensive assessment and treatment to children, youth, and adults who are struggling with PTSD and complex PTSD, attachment and developmental trauma, and dissociative disorders. Informed by Interpersonal Neurobiology and a psychodynamic approach, Jillian's clinical practice tailors her treatment approach to each unique client’s needs, incorporating various treatment modalities including Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Attachment Theory, Polyvagal Theory, and various theories and treatments of complex trauma and dissociative disorders. Jillian is a Certified EMDR Therapist and EMDRIA Approved Consultant and is a facilitator for the AGATE Institute (Ana Gomez Attachment Trauma Education), which provides specialized training to EMDR therapists working with children and youth. Jillian has presented on integrating the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) into EMDR Therapy at the Child and Adolescent Complex Trauma Conference 2019 and the SSP Gathering with Dr. Stephen Porges 2019. She is a founding partner of the Healing Therapy Alliance (HTA) and the PsychoSomatic Trauma Initiative in Toronto, which are collectives of integrative Psychotherapists, Wellness Therapists, and Addictions Counselors that provide a collaborative, team-based approach to healing the whole person and is grounded in neuroscience and trauma-specific, evidence informed practices.
