Complex behaviour in children are escalating worldwide. Psychotropic medications are widely used in the treatment of Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), yet the literature to guide their use is almost nonexistent. The prescriber faces the challenge of distinguishing whether particular symptoms, such as dramatic mood shifts or auditory hallucinations, represent switches within the alter system, as opposed to co-occurring biological disorders such as bipolar disorder or schizophrenia.
